KQED films our dog research
“How Your Dog’s Nose Knows So Much | Deep Look: Dogs have a famously great sense of smell, but what makes their noses so much more powerful than ours? They’re packing some sophisticated equipment inside that squishy schnozz.”
PBS did another great story – both a video and an online story – on our research, this time on Judy Jinn’s PhD thesis research on search dogs and their ability to track humans. Josh Cassidy was the producer and writer and did another fantastic review of our research, creating a dramatic (and accurate!) portrayal of the research questions – starring Zinka and our collaborator, Shay Cook of CARDA. Our lab manager, Masha Paramonova ran the demonstration of our methods! Here’s a picture of Masha and Judy from an actual field experiment.
